Terms of Use for the PikaBear app

In force from: 16 September 2026

This is a translation of the Slovenian original. The Slovenian text is the reference version.

By installing and using the PikaBear app you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.

The terms are written in plain language, as far as possible, without lawyers' jargon. Where something is important, it is stated directly.

1. Who provides the app

Provider Credo.app računalniško programiranje Petra Šuligoj s.p.
Address Polana 49, 3273 Jurklošter, Slovenija
Email info@pikabear.app
Registration number 7586132000

2. What the app is

PikaBear is an app for learning foreign languages. It offers games for recognising letters, numbers and words, exercises with phrases by situation, a conversation with a bear character, voice translation, and a tool for saving words captured with a photograph.

The app is intended for learning and fun. It is not a learning aid with guaranteed content, not a certified language course and not a substitute for lessons.

3. Who it is for

The app has a mode for children from about four years of age. Children under 15 must not use it without the consent of a parent or guardian. Consent is given in the app on first launch. Where the law of your country sets a higher age limit, that limit applies.

If you are a parent or guardian: by giving consent you confirm that this is you and that you agree to the processing described in the privacy policy.

4. Answers of artificial intelligence

This is the most important paragraph of these terms.

In the Talk and Voice translate modes the answers are generated on the fly by an artificial intelligence language model. The answers are not prepared in advance, not reviewed and not guaranteed. They can be inaccurate, strange or inappropriate, even when they look convincing.

Therefore:

The provider is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of content generated by artificial intelligence.

5. What you must do

By using the app you undertake that you:

If you violate these terms, we may refuse you access to the server functions (conversation and translation). Games and exercises work without the server and do not have this consequence.

6. Availability of the service

Conversation and voice translation need the internet and our server. We do not guarantee that they will always be available. We may change, limit or discontinue the service at any time - including because of the costs this function causes.

The app is designed so that it does not fail in an outage: games, exercises, vocabulary and the recorded voice of the bear work also without the internet.

7. Price and payment

The app is free to download and contains no ads. Some functions are paid (subscription), as described below.

Talk and Voice translate are also free, but up to twenty questions per device. Whoever wants to talk more can buy a subscription. Everything else

Prices are shown in the app and in the Google Play store. The purchase is made by Google Play and Google's terms apply to it; we do not see payment data. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.

Cancellation is done in Google Play. After cancellation the subscription is valid until the day to which it is paid and then is not renewed.

Right of withdrawal. As a consumer you have by law the right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days, unless you expressly agreed to immediate performance and thereby lose this right - which for a subscription happens on first access. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own rules; contact them first, then if necessary info@pikabear.app.

Purchasing is for parents. Before the prices there is a task that a small child cannot solve. If a purchase nevertheless happened without your knowledge, contact Google Play - it handles refunds.

8. Copyright

The app, its vocabulary, voice recordings, design and the bear character are the copyrighted work of the provider. The user receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to personal, non-commercial use. The content may not be reproduced or published outside the app.

Words and photographs that you enter into the app yourself remain yours and remain on your device.

9. Limitation of liability

The app is provided as it is. Within the scope permitted by law, the provider is not liable for indirect damage, lost profit, loss of data or for damage arising from the use of content generated by artificial intelligence.

These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to damage to life and health, and to liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer protection rules. As a consumer you have rights that these terms cannot limit.

10. Protection of personal data

What data is processed and how is described in the privacy policy, which is an integral part of these terms.

11. Changes to the terms

We may change the terms. We will notify you of material changes in the app. If you do not agree with a change, uninstall the app.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia. The courts in the Republic of Slovenia have jurisdiction over disputes. As a consumer you can also resolve a dispute through the online dispute resolution platform or before a provider of out-of-court consumer dispute resolution; this option remains available to you regardless of this paragraph.

If as a consumer you live in another country, you also keep the mandatory consumer rights under the law of the country in which you reside; the choice of Slovenian law does not take them away.
